5. Travel insurance can cover personal liability
Suppose you’re liable to cover someone who got accidentally hurt or whose property was damaged because of you while traveling together. In that case, your travel insurance can pay for those expenses, including legal costs. However, there are some instances where your travel insurance will not be able to cover your claim, and they may include damages that you’re held accountable for. Those are not “accidents,” so your insurer will not cover you or the third party. Note that your insurance won’t cover you if it’s a member of your family or co-worker who made a claim.
