1. Your health insurance company puts profits above everything else
TV commercials are created to make you believe that private companies deeply care about your health, but they don’t. Spoiler alert: all they care about are profits – and the less money insurers pay you, the more they earn. With that being said, it is easy to understand why they will do everything in their power to reduce insurance billing. Surprisingly, a lot of those things can be morally repulsive. Some insurer agents even go as far as lying to their clients in an attempt to get rid of the charges to which their company is contractually bound. Be extra careful, know your rights, and don’t believe that your insurance agent is your friend – because he/she’s not.
